Our Mission

The mission of The Classical Academy of Naples is to provide students with an advanced, classically-directed Christian education in a thriving, stimulating environment.  The Academy celebrates academic excellence through its enriching intellectual experiences contributing to an engaging and abundant learning community.

Our Statement of Faith

Our Philosophy

A proper education shapes and cultivates the mind to reason and think critically therefore leading to a wise and virtuous student.  This is best achieved by providing the student with a classical and Christian education in an environment that is both engaging and focused on acquiring knowledge and skills.  Acquiring knowledge and skills are not enough; the ability to gain a deeper understanding and perspective of the world and possess the ability to communicate effectively is paramount to a well educated mind.  This training crafts the student to become an independent and sophisticated thinker.

Education at The Academy is challenging and requires mutual respect and commitment between the teacher, the student, and the parent(s).  The role of the teacher is to be model, mentor and instructor.  Each student is unique and therefore our learning environment will strive to meet the needs of each student so that they can reach their fullest potential.  The classroom environment must be a place where a student feels safe and valued and where achievement is expected and encouraged.

While the curriculum is traditional and academic, it is also rich in opportunities for creative experience and expression. We believe that only upon knowledge can creative potential best be realized and self-expression most fully developed.

 We are committed to:

n

    Providing a classical comprehensive liberal arts education that is appropriately challenging and intellectually stimulating to the student;

    A
    llowing each student to engage in learning opportunities at a pace and depth consistent with the student’s knowledge and skills;

    P
    roviding students a learning environment that is founded on the Judeo-Christian values and that fosters honesty, responsibility, citizenship, understanding and appreciation of individual differences, and respect for  others;

    Utilizing multiple forms of assessment to report on student accomplishment and to guide the students’ efforts to improve learning;

    Engaging parents in the learning process and providing opportunities for understanding and nurturing their children; and

    Instilling a love of learning.
